BRACUAAA marks Ramadan with vibrant alumni iftar gatherings in multiple cities

The BRAC University Alumni Association of Australia (BRACUAAA) recently hosted two warm and vibrant Iftar gatherings in the Australian states of New South Wales and Victoria, bringing together members of the BRAC University alumni community living abroad. The events welcomed alumni, their families, and friends, with more than 100 attendees participating across the two events.

The gatherings were held at Himalaya Restaurant in Granville, Sydney on 27th February and Cha Adda in Melbourne on 28th February. Both events created a welcoming and lively atmosphere where alumni had the opportunity to reconnect, share stories, and enjoy an evening of community and togetherness while breaking their fast during Ramadan.

The Victoria gathering in Melbourne was organised with the support of volunteers Atqiya, Taposhi, Fatin, and Tanzil, who worked closely to ensure the smooth coordination of the event. The programme also received generous financial support from Victoria-based alumnus Ohinur Makamay Mahmud, whose contribution played an important role in making the evening both memorable and successful.

Meanwhile, the New South Wales event in Sydney was made possible through the efforts of volunteers Arpita, Hasnat, Shaon, Sadman, Ayon, Nibraj, and Imran, whose dedication and teamwork helped create a warm and engaging environment for all participants.

The Sydney event was further enriched through the partnership of Rongbaz (a venture of an alumnus entrepreneur living in Sydney), whose support added an extra dimension to the event. Their involvement helped enhance the overall experience and contributed positively to the sense of celebration and community spirit shared among attendees.

More than just a social or religious gathering, the two Iftar events served as a meaningful opportunity for BRAC University alumni in Australia to strengthen their connections and celebrate their shared academic roots. For many participants, the events provided a valuable chance to reconnect with fellow graduates, exchange experiences of life abroad, and reinforce a sense of belonging within the alumni community.

The organisers expressed sincere gratitude to all volunteers, partners, supporters, and attendees whose contributions helped make both gatherings successful and memorable.
