BRACU Alumni Across Continents Reconnect at Global Eid Meetup
What do a first-batch graduate in Sydney, a recent grad in Dhaka, and alumni in Adelaide, London, and Germany have in common? A shared love for BRACU and a Sunday night on Zoom.
Last Sunday night, BRACU alumni from Australia, the UK, Germany, and Bangladesh came together for the 2026 Global Eid Reunion hosted by OCSAR’s Alumni Relations Team. Over 20 alumni logged in — from the earliest batches to those who graduated just last year — and the chat was full of nostalgia from the first hello.
From TARC stories to Silver Jubilee plans
We walked down memory lane together. TARC residential semester stories got the biggest laughs, we did a campus rewind, shared a short cultural session, and even kicked around ideas for BRACU’s 25th anniversary. With the Silver Jubilee celebrations set to launch on 16 June 2026, the energy for events in Australia is already building.
Highlights from the night
BRACU Registrar Dr. David Dowland opened the session with updates on alumni initiatives and global partnerships. He also spoke about his recent visit to the UK and shared how encouraged he was to see the enthusiasm for marking 25 years here in Australia.
From the Student Life team, Ms. Tahsina Rahman welcomed everyone and spoke about keeping alumni ties strong across time zones. Alumni Relations Manager Mr. Forhad Hossain closed by reaffirming the university’s focus on growing country-level networks and creating more ways for graduates to stay involved.
BRACUAAA’s voice in the room
It was great to have three of our own representing Australia: two alumni joining from Adelaide and one from Sydney. BRACUAAA Australia President Md. Imtiazul Haque Mortuza also joined and offered support to new global chapters, sharing lessons from setting up and registering alumni groups overseas.
Alumna Tanzia Islam from Germany spoke about the networking and study-counselling sessions she’s been running, and showed interest in collaborating on similar support for BRACU graduates.
The best part? Real conversations. We swapped stories about campus life, discussed the new Alumni Card, Communication Portal, and Career Portal, and explored how we can stay more connected as a global community.
Eid is about togetherness, and last night proved that distance doesn’t change the BRACU bond. From campus adda to a virtual global meetup — the spirit stays the same.
